This is my second project as a guest design team member for Nitwit Collections using their newest digital collection called Wildflowers. This one is perfect for your 4×4″ or even 5×5″ photos. That is where the name “insta album” came from since your photos on Instagram will have this square dimension.
This collection is full with beautiful golden yellow, black and cream colors. And of course a wide range of flowers and flower clusters. There where several elements in this collection that gave me inspiration that leaded to this album. The first one was the quote “Golden moments” That I found perfect for an album.
The second one came from a pre layered 12×12 layout, that I used to wrap the spine of the album and created a side pocket on the front cover.
The beautiful flower pattern in the collection was one that I absolutely wanted to highlight. I printed this pattern on vellum and created a flap with it to give more interest to the album and it also protects the photos on the pages. If you to want to print on vellum make sure you use a vellum that specifies that it’s suited for inkjet printing.
In the page next to it I used elements from the collection to make a tuck spot for a photo. On one page I made a belly band and on the other page a corner tuck space with the beautiful corner flower cluster.
Under the vellum I placed one photo and clustered some elements together. Again I also used some of the photo corners, I guess I’m in a photo corner phase…
This window element in the middle of the album is what made me decide on the size of the pages and the album. Again I used the vellum with beautiful flower element on it to create the window. I just love how this turned out.
The album starts and ends with a nice size pocket on the inside covers. The scalloped corners inspired me to create this closure on the page. The photo holds the flap on the page in place.
