The name says it all. With this project you get 2 albums in 1 tutorial. Both with the same design, one in portrait layout and one in a landscape layout.
For both albums I’ve used a paper collection from the “paper boutique”. The Portrait album was the first one I’ve designed and decorated. For this one I’ve used a collection called “Tranquil gardens”.
2for1 V1 Portrait 
Acetate window
This collection had beautiful floral images that I’ve tried to keep intact as much as I could and highlight them as best I could. The 4×4″ cut a parts in the collection where perfect on the belly band feature. I’ve cut away the background and backed it with acetate to create a partial see trough window on the belly band.
The design of the album started with the idea for some angled pockets that could be used to keep pages closed.
On the back inside cover I decided to have this feature come back and also there added the angled pockets.
For the landscape style album I’ve used a collection called “Farmyard friends” this collection has the cutest images of animals that just needed to be highlighted in the album. On the cover of this album I’ve added a bit more detail.
2for1 V1 Landscape
The landscape album has the same features as the portrait style album. I took a different take on the decorating by placing photo’s on top of the patterned paper using photo corners.
The main colors in this collection where green and pink.
On every page I used the same design for decorating just went with other papers, images and colors. That makes that it has a cohesive look but still different.
In both albums I’ve used the solids from the collection to add a bit more interest to the papers and highlight photo placement. Also I’ve tried to show different page layouts for placing your photo’s.
I really love the idea of having the same album in a different orientation. In that way you can choose what layout fits best with your patterned paper of choice or your preference of album layout.
